Even though the ECB has now already established its supervisory practice in many areas and is making progress in developing it in others, the banking sector in the eurozone has no time to catch its breath. With continuous challenges to the profitability of banks, unresolved burdens including high NPL ratios, new political developments such as the Trump administration calling for a re-assessment of global supervisory standards and Brexit ante portas, there are plenty of issues to discuss.
